He was one of Carface's henchmen long before Killer was hired. not long after he was hired, Carface tried to kill him by locking him inside a car and pushing it off the dock. But Vincent escaped by pulling a lock and swimming to the surface. After he got back on land, he went to Carface and quit, yelling at him angrily. For that, Carface pushed Vince's face into a boiler that was missing the grate, and he got burned on half of his face, and lost an ear as well, and can only see out of his right eye. Since then, he has run off to another part of the city, across the river. There, he endured some teasing from other dogs about his burned face, and his missing ear. The fur on that side of his face has not and never will grow back. He found a home in an abandoned warehouse in town. Every night since he quit Carface and got burned, he has nightmares in which he is burned again and again. One day, he bumped into a dog who was feared city-wide, and who was known for his short temper and bad attitude. The dog started a fight with Vince, and Vince ended up losing his front left leg, and now he always avoids this dog.
