Personality: Ace is very defensive over his friends since he doesn't really have a family. If anyone hurt any of his friends he would fly in to defend them. This is probably why he hates Steele. The two have gotten into many fights, many that Skylar had to break up. He is usually concerned for his friends and when they go missing he fears the worst. If it takes too long he will rush off to find them, and it's usually something quite normal and ordinary, which makes him look like a fool. But he can't help it. He lost his family when he was younger and wants to protect those who he likes. He's afraid of losing them.

History: Ace was born far, far away from Nome. His parents, two wolves, looked after him well, but one day, when they went out, Ace waited for them. He waited and waited and waited but they never came back. Then his aunt came and looked afteer him until he was a teen. He was about to turn into an adult but then his aunt died from old age. Ace went in search for a new home. He spent months in the snow, it was like he had been there all his life, like it was his home. But he still searched for a place to settle down.

When Ace woke up one morning he continued his search but eventually saw bright lights. He had never seen a city before, and was curious. He walked into the place with bright lights and soon discovered a strange black and white wolf with another wolf, this time a female. After a few moments of observing them, Ace decided that the attention was unwanted and bounded over to the wolf, snarling. They got into an argument, and when the wolf claimed that he was a "husky", whatever one of those was, Ace lost his temper and attacked him. The female wolf begged him to leave bit Ace ignored her. Then humans came up and started kicking snow at Ace, which he didn't understand. Surely they had seen wolves before? But then one of them was holding some sort of stick, and was pointing it at Ace. The wolf told him to leave and this time Ace did. He out of the city, and bumped into another wolf, this time looking more normal. Ace apologised greatly, but then the brown wolf said about him being a wolf. "But. aren't you a wolf?"  Ace asked. The wolf, or whatever he was, shook his head. "No. I am a wolfdog." Ace was confused. "What is a dog?" He asked slowly, new to this word. He had never heard of a dog. "A dog is like a smaller version of a wolf." The wolfdog explained. After a few more questions, followed by explanations, Ace discovered that he had fought with a husky called Steele. He also discovered that this wolfdog was called Balto, and Ace relaxed around him. Unlike Steele, he was really nice. Ace also discovered that the place with bright lights was a city called Nome, and what sled racing was. To Ace it was a bit weird for humans to make dogs pull a sled, and it was all kind of foriegn, but he quite enjoyed knowing about it anyway.

Later he met up with the dog he had saved, someone who was called Skylar. They got talking, and Ace felt a little weird around her, although why he didn't know. Skylar asked if he was going to stay, to which Ace replied that he would probably have to look for another place to stay if he was going to stay put. Skylar at once told Ace that Balto wouldn't mind him staying, and finally she had to go. So Ace went to his new home and explored for a while before settling down there to sleep.

Over the days Ace was comfortable in his new home with his new friends. However, he felt something more towards Skylar, although he didn't know it. All he knew was that when he sat outside in the cold waiting for her and she didn't come soon, Ace was terrified that something bad had happened. But she always came back, perfectly safe from harm.

One day Ace asked Balto about it. "You're in love with Skylar, Ace." Balto told him when Ace explained his problem. At first, Ace denied it, but then gave in pretty quickly. He trusted Balto with his life. Later Ace got into a fight with Steele, and Skylar came to break up the fight. When Steele left Skylar seemed upset that he was keeping it a secret that he loved her. Ace couldn't stand her being unhappy so licked her cheek and raced off, tears flowing down his cheeks. He was sure that he had blown it and lay down and cried when he reached the ship. Skylar came and, obviously not have gotten the message from that lick, still wanted to know what was wrong. Ace screamed out to her, in tears, but not in an angry way, that he loved her. Then he ran off again, into the snow. He hated himself, and was sure that Skylar would hate him, now. Then Steele came, and Ace got into another fight with him. Finally, after a comment from Steele saying that Ace didn't really love her, Ace screamed out the truth to Steele about how he would die for Skylar. He wasn't aware that she was there until Steele finally raced off. Ace felt so ashamed of himself, and was in tears when Skylar asked if he really meant it, but admitted it. Then he found out that Skylar loved him, too. Ace was so relieved that he didn't have to hide it anymore. He loved Skylar and she loved him. That was all that mattered to Ace.

One day, when Ace and Skylar were out on a walk, Ace sensed a bear around. Ace told Skylar to hide while he took a look. It turned out to be a mother bear with her cubs eating. Ace backed away to report back to Skylar but acidentally attracted the bear's attention. Ace began to run, but when it went to attack Skylar Ace flew at the bear. While he was fighting Skylar howled, and the humans finally came to shoot the bear. When they aimed the gun at Ace, he saw Skylar step in front of him. After a bit of discussion, they decided to let Ace into the city, but only if Skylar was with them.

Ace and Skylar were walking in Nome on the same day when Rosie came out with her sled. She told Skylar that she wanted to go sled racing. Ace put his ears down, he knew that this meant they couldn't spent time together, plus he would have to leave Nome until she came back, but then Rosie asked Ace if he wanted to come. Ace wagged his tail, but when he was strapped up behind Skylar he wasn't so sure. They ended up out of town, but Ace sensed a blizzard coming. He assumed that they would be back before it came, so didn't point it out. But soon he sensed the blizzard closer, and knew that they couldn't get home in time. "Skylar, where's Nome?" He called to her, but she didn't know. Ace sniffed the air and picked up the scent of Nome, but kept losing it. Then he looked at Skylar and Rosie. They were freezing. That was all Ace needed. All his wolf insticts suddenly flooded back to him. He and Skylar switched places and Ace got them back to Nome. He didn't know how, but he just sort of knew. It was weird but he had done it! He had got them back to Nome in the middle of a blizzard without going in the wrong direction once. Rosie went inside to warm up, and so did Skylar. Ace didn't, though, because he was used to the cold. Finally Skylar came out, and Ace wagged his tail. The two spent endless time together, as if nothing could break them apart.
