He was born in Osaka, Japan, in 1921. He was more ccurious than any of his siblings, and he ran away from home when he was 9 weeks old. He's not very good at finding his way back, so when he tried he got lost. After that, he lived on his own, and ate from trashcans. When he was a year old, he was fending off some local dogs who always liked giving him a hard time, and a man on the street corner saw him and thought he'd make a good guard dog, so he took Akihiko to the local docks, where the man worked. He trained the dog, and later Akihiko proved to be an effective guard around the docks. He was always curious about the ships that sailed in. One day, a new ship he'd not seen before sailed in, and he hopped on to explore the vessel, and soon fell asleep. When he woke up, the ship was already well underway. He freaked out, calmed down, and went to explore the ship, which was a freighter hauling coal to Alaska. When the ship arrived in the port near Nome, he hopped off and went to explore the town. since he had long fur, he adjusted to Alaska's climate in no time. He speaks Japanese almost all the time, and no-one understands him. But he did pick up a couple of words of English on board the ship, but not enough to make even the slightest amount of sense in a conversation, though. He prefers speaking Japanese though. He made a couple of friends his first day in town, but a few months later they died of natural causes. Akihiko was saddened slightly, but got over it in a few minutes. He has since remained friendless. He gets really nervous when a girl tries to talk to or flirt with him. He is fascinated by the Northern lights. He lives in one of the abandoned boats closest to town.
