After Balto died, his spirit was transformed into that of a White Wolf, though his distinct personality remained the same. Later, after Aniu stepped down from her position as the Great Spirit, Balto took over, thus earning him the title "Balto the White Wolf".

His first appearance in this form was in "Aleu: Across Alaska", in which he happeared to Shadow briefly. He later made a full appearance in "Aleu: Into Canada", and has shown himself to Aleu, Shadow and Varadan quite often ever since.

HIs entire appearance has been altered, aside from his eyes, which are roughly the same color and shape. His fur has turned completely white, making him resemble a wolf even more than in life. He has not made an appearance after appearing to Shadow briefly in "Wolfsoul: In Memoriam", and based on his last words, it is quite likely he never will appear in this form again.

Age: Immortal

Personality: Just like Balto, except a bit more patient and almost immune to anger

Relatives: As revealed in "Aleu: More Journeys, Same Quest", Balto's entire family reside with him. However, whether they retain their original forms or possess new fur colors remains unknown.
