Personality: nice, really shy, mostly quiet (but she does talk sometimes)
In 1922, eight weeks after she was born, she was adopted by a person who was very mean, and often would not feed or water her for a few days at a time. She became very thin and skinny, and barely had enough strength to stand up. Eventually the man would give her water. A few months later, someone saw how thin she was when they looked in the window as they walked by the man's residence in town, and took her away from the cruel man. She was taken back to her rescuer's home, and after a few weeks, she was back to normal again except for one thing. After being dehydrated for periods of time, she has an occasional seizure that usually lasts for about half a minute. When she was 3 years old, in 1925, she heard her nice owner develop a cough. A few days later, she heard lots of cheering and clapping from outside; this was Balto and his team returning with the medicine. Not long after her owner had a shot of the serum, he got better and the cough went away. For most of Catherine's life, Steele picked on her for bumping into things, and for her occasional seizure. Other dogs started making fun of her too. Those that didn't stood up for her and scared the antagonists away. Being blind in both eyes, she has no idea what her good-willed protectors look like, but she can easily tell who they are from the sound of their voice. One day, Steele and a couple other dogs were making fun of her, when she heard a dog run up and scare Steele and the other antagonists away. After the bad guys had run off, Catherine thanked her rescuer, and, despite being blind and having no idea what he looked like, felt like she was in love with this dog. Over the course of a few months, they met and talked, and were close friends, eventually becoming mates. Catherine almost never leaves the safety of Brus's side, and she loves him more than anything. Whenever she has a seizure, Brus is there to comfort her.
Other: her blindness and seizures are non-genetic, and will not be passed on when she has pups
