Personality:A quieter, but still obnoxious version of his father. He sees himself as better than everyone else, but unlike his brother, Iron, he doesn't even acknowledge those who confront him. At most he puts them in their place, or lets his brother do it. He becomes softened after the death of his first mate, and eventually wants to come to terms with his son Jade after abandoning him and his sister without so much as a goodbye.

Likes:Himself, Melody, his father.

Hates:Being told he's wrong.

Fears:Being alone.

Other: Was bought by Mr. Silver with his brother Iron. He and his brother were valuable because their father was a prize racing dog and they were trained to do the same thing. In his spare time, he'd hang with Iron and tease the local "mutts." Especially Balto's children.

Mr. Silver met an old acquaintance named Elizabeth, who was the owner of the beautiful Melody. Cobalt wasn't interested in her because she was a "mutt" (even tho he was himself) but after being with each other, they fell in love and had three beautiful puppies, Jade, Sadie, and Steele, named after Cobalt's father.

Even tho he was very proud of his family, he was very proud of his racing career and trained very hard. But one day while he was out, Hank tried mating with Melody, and during their brawl and Cobalt's recklessness, Steele Jr. was killed. He lied to Melody, telling her that Hank did it, but just the same they were both grieved for the death of their son.

It only increased when Cobalt had to leave for a year-long race. He came back and had two more puppies, Maggie and Ruby , but Melody died during the birth and left Cobalt too depressed to even care about his daughters.

Cobalt was later sold to a man in Russia where he used him for racing. A mysterious dog offered Cobalt a mate as a prize in a private race and Cobalt accepted, hopeful in finding happiness again. Cobalt ended up being attacked by a bear and losing the race, but he survived.

Cobalt nearly made it to town back to his musher since he figures he's supposed to live out the rest of his days sledding, but he passes out from the pain and is taken in by a man who has intentions of healing him. But Cobalt reacted violently towards him so he keeps him in a cage. Being in a small cage so soon after being a wild-running dog, it caused him to slip slowly into madness. While he's in there he meets Paige., who has a crush on him, but he doesn't feel the same way because she reminds him of his daughter Maggie.

While in the cage, Cobalt also meets a dog named Vienna, who he has taken kindly to. She and Paige.to an extent keep his sanity. Cobalt advances towards Vienna, but she would only be his mate if she could have his pups, thinking he'd never leave her for it. Around this point, he hasn't /completely/ forgotten about Melody, but he's not mourning her any longer. He's eager to have more sons since he doesn't even know the whereabouts of his first son Jade, so he agrees (more than likely leaving Paige.heart-broken) but when Vienna has the pups, 5 were girls and one son more was born dead, who looked exactly like Steele Jr.

He books it out of there, and eventually finds himself in an auction, where he's bought by an older couple wanting to move, via dog sled. So he meets another small team of dogs and they travel to White Mountain, and while there, he sees Jade again, thus bringing back his terrible memories.

He lives the remainder of his days in White Mountain with the old couple, who basically wanted him for protection since he was the biggest dog on the team. They sold the others.
