Dingo was born in the same litter as Aleu. Although he is the youngest of the pups, he is one of the most beloved of all his litter. His siblings get along with him more than the others. He used to work for a telegraphing company in Nome, but the transitioned to a sled dog.

In the story "The Passing Ages", he was killed in a sled accident. Later, his spirit appeared in front of Balto and Aleu, and possibly again later to his sister Malena. It is currently unknown if he, like Balto later on, has the free will to appear to those who he left behind.

As revealed in "Se La Vi", Dingo had a mate named Angel; she, however, died during childbirth. Later, in "Dingo and the Time-Traveling Hero: Theresa", he became mates with Theresa, whom he was with up until he died. Through Theresa's time-traveling gift, she was able to say good-bye to Dingo before he died.
