personality: very stern yet gentle to anyone younger. He is very wise and loves to help out. He has respect for those who deserve it, and has a strong dislike for those who demand it. He has a lot of patience and is always ready to tell a story or give someone advice. He hates very few beings. He doesn’t care if someone’s a dog or wolf he treats them all the same. He is weary of humans but only dislikes the ones that try to hurt him or other canines.

history: nothing much is known about his past, as he doesn’t like to talk about it. He was born to a strong father and a caring mother. He always looked up to his father and wanted to be just like him. When he became about 2-years old, his parents were shot. His mother died instantly and his father was slowly fading. But in his father’s last moments Doby promised to protect the mountains just as he had done. His father told Doby how proud he was of him and slowly drifted into death. Doby was old enough to take care of himself and did as he promised his father. Nothing happened in the mountains that he didn’t know about. Every dog sledding team that passed by, every human and canine that passed through, he knew about it. That is how he found Sonya, a young female who was looking for a new home. They became friends and quickly fell in love. Not long after, Sonya gave birth to two boys. They were ecstatic to be parents. About six weeks later, while Sonya was out getting a drink and Doby was watching the pups, a hunter shot at Sonya. He missed and Sonya tried running away. The Hunter sent his dogs after her and they chased her until they tackled her to the ground and killed her. When Doby heard the gunshot, he ran towards the source and found the hunter dragging the bloody mangled body of Sonya to his truck. Doby was crushed. He vowed never to fall in love again. He was so down he couldn’t take care of his own pups. He was glad when two of his young friend found them and adopted them as their own. He now lives alone in the mountains.

other: -He found Takado, Balto’s son, wandering into the mountains. Takado was not very street-wise at the time so Doby took him in and became Takado’s adopted father. Now that Takado’s older, they still talk and hang out. Takado loves to hear Doby’s stories.
