Story:

John was Steele's team new member. However, he never had his place in it because Steele never asked for a new partner. John was desperate, knowing that he would never be able to fulfill his dream to be part of a team, thats why he decided to hide not far from the boat which served as a house for Balto.

This is where he met Kodi, who quickly became his friend. Kodi told him how his father saved Nome's children. Taking his self confidence back, John returned to the city. Star and Kaltag got to know him then. Finding him nice, they asked Steele to give John another chance, what he did. Impressed by his new capacities and his endurance, the old champion willingly accepted John to take part in some runnings whenever he'd want to.

Also, John met Kaltag's brother, Roger. Some say they were in love and met in secret. Unfortunately for them, this relationship had been disapproved by Kaltag. He wasn't ashamed but, for him, love was making people weak, and as John was part of his team, Kaltag didn't want to lose the runnings because of him. After a long talk, John eventually convinced him that love was the strongest strength on earth. Him and Roger then adopted a little husky dog girl named Ester.

Sometimes, John's second personality was taking controle of his spirit and of his body. Then, Balto had to protect Ester and Roger.
