History: Luke, along with his two brothers, all tried to be successful sled dogs. Luke was the only one to fail. He had the most potential while the three were brothers, and he was even picked up by a musher on adoption day. He had some of the best training with an experienced team, but his dreams shattered when he was two years old.

While out on a pratice run, Luke's team ran into a large polar bear that attacked the team unexpectedly. None of them had even seen the bear coming! It was on the sled and their musher in no time at all. The dogs all broke free of their harnesses and scattered into the woods. Except Luke. His harness had been caught in the bark of a tree that he had almost run into when the sled crashed. Luke struggled against the leather, but the bear soon charged at him.

It was clearly an unfair fight, so Luke's only chance of survival was escape. As the bear bit at him, it snapped his harness. Luke was already terribly hurt, but he had just enough strength to keep the bear at bay until he could make a run for it. But he didn't run far. Luke had a huge gash in his thigh that was causing him immense pain. Luckily, he was only a day's journey from Nome, but with his new limp and still bleeding cuts, it took him three times as long to mack it him and into proper treatment at the vets.

While Luke was in recovery, a few of the other dogs on his team came back to Nome, though most of them were still missing. The people began to understand what had happened, and the whole town didn't know what to do about the relization.

After Luke was healed, he found the town in mourning over the lost sled team. Luke had his own sorrows, though. The scars that were all over his body didn't bother him, but the gash on his leg had gone through muscle and given Luke a permanent limp. The worse news was that Luke would never be a sled dog again/

Instead, Luke become a house dog for the one of the vet's family. The wife was more than welcoming to Luke, but the only one who could even begin t cheer Luke up was the vet's other dog, Gemimi. Gem was a mix dog that had been left to the pound, but the vet's wife had saved her from that horrible life.

Gem showed Luke the glories of the housedog life, and the two eventaully became best friends and mates. After the end of his sledding carreer, Luke's biggest dream was to have a large family of his own. Gem eventaully had to break the news to him that she had been spayed by the vet and could never have pups. Luke was devastated, but couldn't leave Gem despite his disappointment.

To make up for not being able to have pups of their own, the couple often takes young ones off the streets and raises them as their own.

Personality: Luke is kind and caring. He's one of the dogs that doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He sets his goals high and tries hard to reach them. When something interrupts those plans, Luke had a hard time getting over it.
