History: He was born in 1968 in Long Beach, California, in an apartment a few miles from the McDonnell Douglas aircraft plant. The person who lived in the apartment was an employee at the plant who really liked his job. So he named this one pup McDonnell, after the company. 2 years later, he brought McDonnell to the plant after brushing him so that his hair would not contaminate the paint still drying on the still-being-assembled DC-10s. McDonnell became a permanent resident there, and most of the staff and employees liked having him around the plant. There, he lived in a huge kennel the plant had had installed specially for McDonnell. He was brushed every day. Almost every day, he was allowed to wander the plant and the factory floor, as long as he stayed away from the aircraft. One day, in 1971, there was a horrific accident at the plant. A tail assembly was being lifted by crane to the unpainted, nearly-completed fuselage of a DC-10. A cable snapped. McDonnell's owner was on the floor, and was not paying attention to his surroundings. He had just stepped off of the scaffolding frame after doing some minor welding, and the tail assembly fell on him and killed him and a couple other workers. McDonnell was on a walkway above the factory floor, and he saw the assembly fall and kill his owner. For months afterward, he was always pacing the plant, head lowered, ears back, and whimpering. He missed his owner dearly. He always wanted to be left alone. The company ran an ad about McDonnell in the newspaper, and a few days later, a man came by to see McDonnell. He was a relative of McDonnell's deceased owner. He petted McDonnell for a while. McDonnell quickly took a liking to the man. The man hooked a leash to his collar and led him out of the plant to his pickup truck. The man ran a kennel in Long Beach, and took McDonnell there. A few weeks later, another man came by and bought him. That man was a Husky enthusiast. He took McDonnell to his home in White Mountain. He lived there with his wife and son. He tried to train McDonnell to become a sled dog, but McDonnell showed no interest. The man gave up, and McDonnell remained the family pet. Every once in a while, he wanders around town. He's laid-back, easy going, and relaxed. He's greatly adored by the ladies (for his eyes and voice, but mostly his voice), and some faint when they hear his voice or when he looks at them. Respects them and their rules. He's got a good sense of humor, and likes to make others laugh. He can be protective and defensive, but mostly tries not to show it.
Other: has a light gray spot around his right eye, and wears a collar that has a tag with the McDonnell-Douglas logo on it.
