First of all, it could be either a bad news or a good news, but I've decided to forbid 'mates' on the shout boxes.
Months ago, many people began playing this, and were talking a lot between them, which was very annoying for many, so I decided to make the mate box to keep all of these talks in one place.
But most people didn't seem to follow this, recently.
Also, there was a very bad effect of making a Mate box : by seeing the word 'mate' everywhere, many people, especially newcomers, were to think that it was the main goal of the shout boxes, and that they HAD to get a mate and play this.
This has never been the aim of the shout boxes. Not only does this annoy many people who wants to talk about other things, such as roleplaying, but this also could be dangerous. Most people who chat there are children, so I am very strict about this : NEVER GIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION! This includes : no real name, no address, no telephone number.
These shout boxes are placed on a site based on an animated film. This is not a dating site.
And if you want another good reason, don't forget that mates is a personal thing. So it should be restricted to personal chats only. Not the Balto Source chats, which are public. You should rather use messengers instead, such as AIM or MSN.
So please, when you're on the Balto Source shout boxes, make friends, not mates!

I've made another little change on the shout boxes, the 'Topic of the day'. This is just a little suggestion of things to talk, that you can use if you don't see anything to talk about. Note that this is just a suggestion. I will try to change it everyday, there's nothing automatic yet (I'll see if it works before taking time to program something like that)

The voting for the comic contest has begun! You can now cast your vote, by going in the comic section. (just go to the fan arts page) The voting will be closed in one or two weeks, and the results will be announced afterwards.

On the forums, I've added a few 'Wolf' smileys, that you can access by clicking on 'View more Emoticons' when posting an answer.

Finally, I've updated a few things : fan videos, fan fics, fan arts and comics (of course).
