Marroah
Hi, Simon.
My apologies, I had not known that someone asked about backstory for Balto and Boris. Thank you for what you answer questions and give very interesting information. However, I want to ask you.
I know the film was released 20 years ago. Much is already beginning to be forgotten. I would like to ask about Balto's parents. I am grateful to you for your answer to my question about them. But still. How do you see them? How do you personally represent this wolf and this sled dog? Their names, appearance, and some character traits and their fate (Balto was born in the wild or Nome, why he was alone and outcast?). If it's possible.
What I actually wanted to ask. I saw a lot of old backgrounds for the film. Northern Lights with a silhouette of a wolf ( was it a white wolf?), Polar day and the view from the top of Alaska and more. Can you tell me about this? I happened to see an old movie background. Silver-blue colors and shades, snowflakes, likeness forests and snowy owl. What is it? Who is it? It's really something mystical for me.
Karlamon
Marroah asked me to just send Simon this question. Here is Simon's reply:
"The shape of the wolf howling in the northern lights at the end of the movie was always envisaged as the closing image of the animation, from the earliest script. I'm not sure where the owl image came from. I don't recall seeing it before, but maybe my memory is faulty."

As it has been said, the interview is over, and the questions have
been answered (I think Karlamon still has a few more to send out yet,
but I wouldn't take advantage of that either if that's the case). That
isn't to say there won't ever be a future interview with Simon, but I
think your question will just have to be left unanswered for now. |

Only for this reason I send this question (it's last). And, again,
thanks. I always wanted to ask about this background

He was essentially the only one who did. And besides, this was his
project, which he set up and arranged for us all. I think he'd be
entitled to an exception given that he's doing all the work Marroah.
Just let it go and comply with the rules please. |

Unless I am mistaken, the deadline for asking questions has already
passed. As noted in the news item about this: "Please send your questions there, before Saturday, 25th July (9pm PDT), and hopefully he may answer them!" I would recommend that you stop adding new questions, Marroah. |
