Wild Joe, possibly named after (which is just my idea) the musher " Wild Bill Shannon", may have been a character that was scrapped early on in the development process. He also could have been a earlier version of an existing character.

The wolves that Balto saw were probably only added to introduce Balto's feelings towards his wolf heritage. I doubt that they have any relation to Balto.

(In this question) I wanted to ask about:

1. Some deleted characters (for example, a dog named Wild Joe)

2. Wolf pack on the hill in the begining of the movie (what are they? who are they? their possible relation to Balto) / [...] balto/img_screenshot/80150.jpg

3. One male dog (it's most likely Balto's old design - / [...] balto/img_screenshot/79989.jpg) and 3 females (I think, they're Jenna's old designs - / [...] balto/img_screenshot/80025.jpg)

My information there is incorrect. "Snowballs" was code name for Balto when it was in preproduction
