Dragon Tamer
What do you think each of the characters (r character sets such as Muk and Luk or Steele's lackeys) brought to the table in terms of making the movie what it was? Were there any you thought were particularly key in their unique contributions to the finished product?
Karlamon
Here is Simon's reply:
"Sidekick characters are always a useful element in a story. They allow the lead character to explain things to the audience, and also provide comedic relief from tension. The great thing about having silly characters is that they can say the obvious things, the things that smarter characters might be too polite or too sensitive to point out. So the sled dog lackeys are the stupid version of Steele, they back up and enhance his point of view. They also acted as the voice for all the sled dogs, as allegiances start to shift away from Steele and towards Balto."

My apologies for any confusion or trouble. Karlamon specifically
advised me to submit my question last night when I learned that it had
previously not made the list. |

DT, the interview is over (and has been for nearly a month). I know Karlamon isn't finished sending out the remainder of the questions yet, but I don't think it's a good idea to take advantage of that fact either. I could potentially see other users getting the same idea, and that would leave this project in never ending state. Simon has more important things to attend to besides answering fan questions on a regular basis. |
