I think those lights look like they're on trees. Either that, or
really decorative posts. |

My guess would be a balcony. The curve of that railing doesn't look
right for a boat. Those lights might be a clue, though I'm not enough
of a historian to offer any guess worth elaborating as to whether such
lights would have been more common on shore or at sea back then. |
