A Work In Progress. I was trying to do realistic fur. Am I doing all right? Please comment?

Thank you! Your advice is most helpful, and I really appreciated this prompt answer. I don't have many chances to study real wolves, sadly, but I'll see what I can do on the internet for references.

I based this off of an illustration for a book cover that looked quite realistic, else I would have followed more of the basic rules. I was just experimenting at the time. And I haven't yet finished the eyes--as I said, this is just a WIP.

Thanks again.

You're doing a fantastic job! (:

However, you can work on making high/lowlights in the fur by creating variation in tone and direction, which will make it look even MORE real. Study real wolves to accomplish this. (Pay attention to the light, dark, and medium points in color, and where they are. Also, to the direction of the fur.)

And you might want to work into the eyes. They look cartoony in this picture. Again, study real wolves for this. PM me if you'd like more critique at any point. I'll be glad to help. (:
