About two days later, Johnny was sitting in a booth beside Jenny's hospital bed, watching her sleeping form quietly. He had been there watching her for the entire two days, and refused to leave her side, no matter how tired he was. He was exhausted, as visible dark rings had formed around his eyes from lack of sleep. But still, he waited, refusing to leave that spot until his wife woke up.

Jenny's eyes slowly started opening.Jenny coughed a bit."Where am I..?"Jenny said to herself unaware Johnny was there in her hospital room.

Johnny's eyes widened and his ears perked up, relieved that Jenny had finally awoken.

"You're in the hospital, dear..." Johnny answered her, gently holding her paw. "You were shot on our last mission."

Johnny tenderly took Jenny's paw in his own.

"Are you alright, Jenny?" Johnny asked, concern in his voice.

Jenny nodded.She looked over at him and smiled."I'm fine,Johnny don't worry."Jenny said quietly.

"I'm sorry Jenny." Johnny placed one paw on Jenny's cheek softly. "This is my fault. You're my wife, I should have protected you."

"No Johnny,It's not.Whoever's fault it is,it's mine for entering the house with ought my gun pointed and armed."Jenny said quietly.She yawned a bit."Go get some rest,I'll be fine."

"I'm not tired." Johnny said. "I just wanna stay here with you."

James, who had not been called in on the mission that day, heard the news two hours ago: during a shoot out with some criminals, Jenny had been critically wounded and was now in the hospital. But that incident had happened two days ago. Why hadn't he gotten the news the day he came back to town, which was the day Jenny had gotten hospitalized?
The sniper was still fuming over the S.W.A.T.'s unusual inconvenience -he was a part of Jenny's team, even if he was usually only called in as a last resort, but he needed to know the well being of his team at all times- as he ran up the stairs inside the local hospital downtown; the sniper took the steps two at a time and found himself on the third floor where he had gotten directed to Jenny's room. In his hand, James gripped the small bouquet of flowers in his hand along with a get-well card that was slowly getting crumpled. James quickly found her room, but was oddly denied entrance by a man standing in the doorway.
