TaleSpin movie pilot "Plunder & Lightning" for download

Disclaimer : I know I shouldn't post this, for legality reasons - but since the movie pilot has major differences with the 4-episodes version on DVD, and that it's rare and not available on sale, I do believe that the fans deserve to watch it. Whenever Disney decides to release this version officially (which will probably not happen any day...), I'll be glad to remove it.

This version of the TaleSpin pilot of the series is actually a movie, that has never been aired since its original air in 1990. (I believe)
This is a MUST SEE for all the fans of TaleSpin, because it contains a LOT of scenes that have been cut from the syndicated 4-part version, such as the song "Home is where the hears is" and other very important scenes for the comprehension of the characters.

No - as I said, it's very rare.
Now don't complain...personally I prefer download something with "good" quality and having to wait a little before watching it, rather than watching an ugly streaming video.

Wow, I just noticed this... I'm the owner of the site referenced in the OP, and you're more than welcome to share the link.

I know it's probably illegal, but until Disney decides to sell the original P&L on DVD, it's not doing any harm. It was more important to me that fans get to see the original pilot the way its creators had intended, rather than the heavily mangled version.

These Premiere Movies were actually made from a mini-series (usually 4 or 5 episodes long) that was cut together. As writers, we were charged with coming up with a story line that could function both as a mini-series AND as a movie. It was hard work but a lot of fun to do. (I still love "The Treasure of the Golden Suns" series we did for Duck Tales.) Usually, there was MORE material in the mini-series than the movie could use, so things often got cut as it was turned into a "movie." However, for some reason, something from the Plunder & Lightning movie got cut - as it went back to regular episodes. I can't tell you WHY that happened after all these years, but it did.

As for questions about "Volume 3" of the DVD's - you'll have to bug the Disney Company about that. I have no control over their decisions. Sure, I co-created, story edited, wrote, and poured my soul into Tale Spin - but all the decisions, fate, fame and DVD sales money belong to Disney... cuz, after all, they know what's best.

I believe so. I don't think the movie version has ever been re-aired. So yes, it's pretty rare (less now :mrgreen:

I really think that Disney should release this film onto DVD, it's much better than most Direct To Video films they've released...if not all. By cleaning up the animation, it could definitely become a good seller.

That's probably difficult to find, but I really would be surprised if there wasn't some people out there who recorded it and kept it...
Do you know if there was any edits in the original version though? I think I heard somewhere that only TaleSpin and Darkwing Duck's pilots were edited for syndication.
