I checked on IMDb today, and Princess and the Frog is #1 in the Box Office!

Im not suprised, it was so epic!
I do hope this brings back good ol 2D...

Due to the usual Disney unnecessary delay, Princess and the Frog comes out here on January 1st... and I'm going away on that day until the 20th.

Well, due to good Lasseter, the next Disney 2D animated film is Rappunzel. I'm kind of weary on their other future film, Gnomeo and Juliet.

I can see it now! That looks great.

As for more pictures of the animtion studios event and the merchandise, give me a week or two. Sure, you can requst, I'm open for drawing requests.

I'm wary of Rapunzel - character description is "girl power" and more "independent". Plus Rapunzel is actually 3D made to look 2D.

Gnomeo and Juliet is not Disney, that's Starz animation, they did 9. Disney's next one after Rapunzel is King of the Elves

No no, Rapunzel and King of the elves are 3D.

The next 2D animated film from Disney is The Snow Queen, slated for 2013...

As for Rappunzel, I read in my stockholder manuel of this year that Glen Keane is designing the characters. Also, I guess I'm a little confused that everybody here is saying that it's going to be 3d but the manuel says it's going to be 2D, then again, they did say that American Dog was going to be made and it didn't...

Actually...some news indicate it may turn into a 3D film, due to the low box office for Princess & The Frog...

American Dog was the codename for Bolt (although the film got huge revamps on the scenario and graphical side)

Now I am confused...

Number 1 of a slow week end, with no real competition.
Any 3D animated film also makes it to the first rank, when it's their first week end. (unless there's really another big competitor)

That's dissapointing to hear...the only reason why itprobaly did'nt make it is that it came out in December....a bad month for movies since people are broke already from gift getting...
if this had been a summer release, it would have done good.

Zenoah has a great point there...if it was released in maybe June, July, or August, it would have hit #1 in the box office within 1 day!

I was rather confused when my radio said it became #1 since I read that report on the source site.

Still, I'm glad.

Though, I wish they could do other merchandise on characters besides Tiana and Naveen. I would love it if they could do a figure of Dr. Facilier and the two-fingered frog hunter.

Also, I find it odd Disney are being so quick to say "oh we might not make it 2D now because of poor box office". It hasn't even come out in some countries, and they're already thinking of getting rid of the next 2D one? They'll get a lot of profit when it finally comes out overseas, I don't even know why they're delaying it's release internationally by a month (same happened with WALL-E and I never saw it in theatres). Strange.
