The Bear is a character that appears at the end of the first The Fox and the Hound movie. While Amos Slade and Copper are searching Tod and Vixey to hunt them down, they trepass the Bear's territory, awakening and angering him. Man and dog are attacked and Amos Slade slips and falls down, losing his gun and ending up with a foot on one of his own traps. Copper tried to defend his owner but the bear was too much stronger and only thanks to Tod, the dog escapes. It is unknown wheter the Bear survived the fall from an unstable trunk where Tod led him to, in order to save Copper.
