Dislikes: Being told what to do, arguing with his father, being kept inside/grounded, having to bath Darkfire and clean up after him.

Personality: Like your average teenager Eric can be rebellious and tends to do his own thing. He is extremely independant but that's not to say he dislikes receiving help if it's needed. He hates to be confined to the house and would rather spend all day with his head literally in the clouds. Eric enjoys flying with his trusty nadder Darkfire and has formed a strong friendship with the beast, even if he sometimes won't listen. He does what he thinks is right and while not always an obedient son, Eric is an extremely loyal friend. While normally a kind soul, Eric does have a nasty streak whenever he is humiliated, disappointed or saddened. He has a quick temper, and it does not take much to get him angry. Like most other vikings Eric enjoys sparring and participating in competitions, his favourites being axe-throwing competitions and dragon racing. He is good with both a sword and axe, but can also use a bow and arrow if required (even if his aim is a little off). Eric also enjoys fishing and hunting but prefers to do both with his dragon instead of his father. He loves his parents, but too easily gets into arguements with his equally stubborn and hard-headed father.

History: When Eric was born his parents thought that he wouldn't make it. He had been born a whole two months early and had some breathing problems. These problems however, went away as Eric grew older. Defying the odds, he grew into a healthy and strong young boy. He prided himself on being one of the tallest kids his age in the village and became best friends with Thunderfoot Marsden and Sky Pearson. Although he and his friends are ashamed to admit it now, they were some of the kids who used to pick on Hiccup back when he was the 'village screw-up'. But now, they are all good friends with Hiccup, Astrid, Snotloud, Ruffnut, Tuffnut and Fishlegs.

Eric, at the age of nine, became apprenticed to a stable manager and worked with horses and cattle. He took care of them, fed them, groomed them and even put shoes on the horses. When Berk made peace with the dragons, Eric (aged 12) attended the new dragon Acadamy to learn about dragons and eventually chose his own, a deadly nadder named Darkfire. Well.. He didn't really get to choose Darkfire. His father merely thought it would be funny to stick him with the most vain, self-centered and stubborn dragon on Berk. Despite a rocky start, Eric and Darkfire soon formed a strong friendship and hardly left each others' sides. Thunderfoot chose a Monstrous Nightmare who he named Spike and Sky chose another Nadder who she named Streamline. When the stable shut down due to lack of horses and cattle, Eric turned to dragon training and helped out at the academy.

How This Character Is Related To The HTTYD Universe: Works at the dragon Academy, is friends with Hiccup and the gang and lives on Berk.
