This is a story I made and decided to post it, but I'm not a member. So I want to know how good I am before I get an account.

my series of stories are called Adventures In Berk. Here goes:

 

                             Hiccup's Leg

 

This, is Berk. About a year ago I taught the people of Berk that we don't have to kill dragons...instead, we can ride them. Since them I came up with the 'Berk Dragon Academy', and I currently teach there. Today though, we are going to the pond to ice skate instead of learning at the Academy. But if you remember correctly, I lost my left leg while fighting the green death. This is my first time skating with a prosthetic leg  so things are bound to happen.

 

"So guys are you ready?" Asked Astrid.

 

"You bet! Me, Tuffnut, and Fishlegs are going to play hockey. What are you girls going to do?" Said Snotlout.

 

When he said 'what are you girls going to do', he was looking at Astrid, Ruffnut, and me.

 

"Are you calling me a girl?" I asked.

 

"No, I'm just not calling you a guy." He said sarcastically.

 

"I am perfectly capable of playing hockey." I said in defense.

 

"Then lets go play 'One-legged'!" Shouted Snotlout.

 

"Don't worry 'bout it. Just beat the ever-living crap out of him for me 'kay?" Astrid said.

 

"I'll try my best."

 

When we arrived at the pond it was frozen solid. Perfect for ice skating.

 

"So who's on who's team?" Asked Snotlout.

 

"Lets pick two team leaders and then they'll pick players." Suggested Fishlegs.

 

"Okay. I am the leader of Team Snotlout."

 

"And I'm the leader of Team Tuffnut."

 

"I pick...Fishlegs for my player." Said Snotlput.

 

"Crap! That leaves me with 'One-legged'! Not fair!" Shouted Tuffnut.

 

From afar Astrid shouted, "Would you guys leave 'em alone! It's not his fault he lost his leg! And for your information, he's going to beat your butts!"

 

"You can say that after he beats me!" Shouted Snotlout.

 

We all went over and proceeded to put on our skates. I pulled out the skates from my bag and put the right one on first. Then I took out the specially-designed left one that Gobber made for me to fit over my prosthetic leg and put it on. When everyone was finished I wobbled over to the ice and prepared for the worst.

 

"Alright, on three. One, two, three!" Shouted Fishlegs.

 

Snotlout had the puck and was going fast. Tuffnut took it from him and passed it to me. I hadn't moved the entire time and was just standing on the side of the rink. When I put out my hockey stick to catch the puck, I almost fell over but didn't. I looked around me and saw Snotlout and Fishlegs coming towards me. Then I looked to Tuffnut who was yelling and waving his arms to signal to me to throw it in the goal. This was my last chance to prove that I'm just as good as I was before I lost my leg.

 

I then hit the puck with my stick, and I fell straight on my backside, but instead of landing in the goal, it hit Snotlout right smack in the face!

"Oh...no." Was what I was thinking when I got up and saw Snotlout's face. I was thinking about how I would explain the bruise on my back to my dad, but as Snotlout got closer, I was no longer thinking that...I was now thinking about how my funeral was going to be planned.

 

"L-listen Snotlout. I am so sorry!" But that didn't seem to be working. "Please don't kill me!" I shouted with fear.

 

"Why did you hit me with a puck!" He shouted.

 

"I'm sorry Snotlout!"

 

"Are you okay Hiccup!?" I heard Astrid say.

 

"He won't be in a second!" Snotlout said.

 

"I-I just! I..." (Sigh)

 

Then I got up and ran to my house. I didn't here any one follow me so I went inside and closed the door.

 

"What did I do!?" I asked myself. "I'm never going outside this house again!"

 

Then I heard knocking on the door.

I walked over to the door and barely opened it to see who it was. It was Astrid.

 

"Just leave." I said as I leaned against the door.

 

"Let me in or I will punch the crap outta you."

 

I didn't want that to happen so as you would expect, I opened it.

 

"Wow, you really got beat up out there. You hit Snotlout in the head and he almost killed you."

 

Thank you, for, summing that up." I said sarcastically

 

"Why didn't you tell me you didn't go skating after you lost your leg?"

 

"I don't know, I guess you would think its silly." I said. "Some of the smallest kids in Berk can skate. But no, of course I end up losing my leg. Just the unlucky-ness of being me I guess."

 

"Or just the cuteness of you."

 

After an awkward silence, the door opened.

 

"Listen, I guess I'm sorry." Snotlout said.

 

Tuffnut kicked him in the side.

 

"Really sorry." He said again.

 

"Thanks. And I'm sorry for hitting you with a hockey puck." As I said this I chuckled.

 

"It's fine cuz. Really." He said.

 

"Thanks." I said.

 

"Want to go skate?" Snotlout asked.

 

"Eh, you guys go. I'm not really the best with my new leg."

 

As they walked out the door, Astrid said something.

 

"Just because you can't skate, doesn't mean I don't like you."
