God created us and loved us, but we sinned against Him. Sin is so wicked that we deserve severe punishment. So God came to earth in the form of a man, Jesus, and lived the holy, sinless life we were unable to live. He then died a horrible death nailed to a cross, taking our sins upon Himself and paying the price. If we put our faith in Jesus for salvation, rather than trying to earn it ourselves, He saves us. After Jesus died, He was raised to life on the third day. If we are saved, we will one day live in heaven for all eternity, where we will be made like Jesus, holy and pure, and where we will never again feel pain nor grief.
