At the conclusion of the original "Lady and the Tramp," Lady and Tramp were blessed with four pups - three that looked like their mother and one that was very much like his father. However, it left us with many unanswered questions.... Were they male or female? What were their names, if they had any?

Naturally, everyone knows that Tramp's little clone is Scamp, the star of the film's sequel and of many other Disney-related materials, such as storybooks, comics and more. But for the other three, they have either been known as "the other puppies" or for those that have only seen the sequel, they've been known as Scamp's three prissy and neat sisters, Annette, Collette, and Danielle (which also were not named in the film, only mentioned in the credits and the "Making of" documentary on the DVD).

Strange.... those aren't the original names for Scamp's siblings at all. Originally, he had three siblings named Ruffy, Fluffy and Scooter. Their personalities were basically like usual pups. Then again, according to Comic Vine, Scooter was a male in the "Scamp" comic strips, though in the "Scamp" comic books that were released, Scooter was female, just like his sisters, Fluffy and Ruffy. So at times, the sequel does prove to be true, making Scamp have three sisters.

So, why was there a name change? It's not officially known why, but I have a few ideas. Perhaps the writers didn't know the original names of the puppies, despite using a lot of rare materials from the original to recreate the same atmosphere. Maybe they thought Ruffy, Fluffy and Scooter sounded too childish for older puppies, as they seemed to turn out by the timing of things in "Scamp's Adventure" (It did take place in July, over six months since the ending of the first film, which was close to Christmastime.). However, the obvious reason is probably because having only one different sibling, in both looks and gender, made it easier for Scamp to have a reason to want to escape. That and the obvious prim and proper idea seemed perfect for "Lady-clone" triplets.
