 There's two things I don't get about LATT, why does Tramp call Lady, Pigeon or Pige for short?

  Why does the chefs at Tony's call Tramp, Butch is that Tramps real name and if it is why does every dog now him as Tramp instead of Butch?

Tramp is called many names by his five weekday families (such as Mike and Fritzi); no doubt he visits Tony enough times for them to believe he's their pet as well. Thus, he was given the name "Butch" by them. His true name, though, is Tramp (although he originally was supposed to be called Homer but the animators changed it).

As for the nickname "Pidge", I couldn't find a solid reason behind it. Some say that since Tramp believes every dog has a little bird dog in him or her, the nickname comes from there. Some say maybe since Lady has such wide eyes like a pigeon. Some even say the "pidge" is a reference to...... uh...... a word that sounds very similar to it..... either way, there's no definitive answer to this one.

Well it sounded like they did say pooch instead of Butch when I had it.But then again some of us could be wrong about it.

Pidge is just a nickname and I think Tramp might have had an owner before he bacame the Tramp and he was called Butch
