Adhra was born and raised in the desert. Her Pride was founded there and they thought they were the only lions in the area, that is, until Adhra was a teen.

She was searching for water when she came across a golden lion with a red mane. He looked scary with his deep focus and muscular body. He said he was searching for the grasslands, in particular, a place called the Pridelands. Adhra hadn’t heard of such places, but pointed in the direction where most of the water and the clouds came from.

She was interested to find out where this grassland was. She told her leader about it and the whole Pride went to find this new land.

When they arrived, they thought it was amazing. There was plenty to eat and it wasn’t any trouble finding water. Adhra asked around a few friendly animals in the area, seeing whether this was a home to some lions, but they said that it wasn’t. This made Adhra slightly upset as she didn’t know whether the strange lion had made it back home.

Adhra’s whole Pride loved this new land, but Adhra herself missed the desert. She missed the feeling of sand beneath her paws and the baking sun on her back, so she decided to run away and find the desert again.

She got lost, badly, and ended up further inland. She gave up hope of ever returning to the desert or her friends and family until she met Imarika and his mate Basma. She decided to join with them and they became her new friends.

They had a brilliant time together, wandering from place to place, until, one day, they saw another group of lions. Adhra, Imarika and Basma headed towards the group, trying to act friendly.  The strange group announced that they were the Utendaji Pride and that they were welcome.

Adhra loved being part of their family and her wishes of returning to the desert left, as she found her home at last.

It was also in the Utendaji Pride where she met her mate, Fumo, who had also been wandering the grassland savannah. He needed someone to love him and care for him, which Adhra did very well.

The Utendaji Pride was set up so I was able to educate everyone on musicals, one of my favourite things (get the pun?)! I just love them and their songs are so powerful, so every picture of them will relate to a song and I will post the link of the song so you are able to listen to it, as well as a context in the story of the musical.
