Personality: Alaba is very understanding and kind-hearted. She does not agree with the hate for other animal and actually feels sorry for lions to have such horrible king as Scar, but after all she's still a hyena and unlike her lion friends, Alaba have less problems with getting something done the dirty ways. She's brave, cunning and clever, but she's truely a female hyena who tends to be very stubborn, dominant and have the last word in everything.

Story: Alaba was born at Pridelands during Scar's regin. Even though the land around her was slowly dying, she was a cheerful pup who liked to play with everyone she met. Much to her mother's and other hyenas' dislike she even attepted to make friends with lions, but most of them shoved her off imedietely. One day Alaba wandered off from her pack to exmplore the lands on her own and she came across two lion cubs who were clearly hiding from the rest of their pride. Alaba learned thet their names were Reli and Mheetu and that king Scar can't learn about them. She understood the cubs, as the king frightened her too, so she promised not to tell anyone about them, but she visited the two as often as she could if their mother or grandmother weren't around (Alaba was afraid of adult lions who were always scolding her when she came too close to their cubs).

Some time later Scar exiled all the male lions from his pride, including Alaba's friends wo went with older lions named Chumvi and Tojo. Little hyena didn't really understand what was happening, so she followed the lions from a distance hoping that they will come back after a while, but that did not happen. Alaba did not know her way back home so she was eventually forced to come out at the lions. At first Chumvi and Tojo were suspicious about the hyena, but they let her travel with them.

During the exile Mheetu died of a stomach bug, so it was only three lions and a hyena. Alaba grew up to be an useful hunter, even though her hyena ways often didn't get lions' appeal. They lived on their own untill the news about Simba's return spred though the lands. Alaba realized she has nothing to look for in hyena's pack, and they would probably exile her for befriending and helping lions, so she asked for an asylum in Pridelands. King Simba agreed for that, as he knew Alaba had nothing to do with Scar's army.

Alaba now lives on her own near priderock, occassionally working as messenger and hunter for the lions.
