Amar was born in the Pridelands during Mohatu’s reign. His parents were close with Mohatu and Nabila, therefore Amar was very close with Mohatu and Nabila’s daughter Uru because his sister would hardly ever leave her side.

Together, they would often talk about Uru’s future as Queen and their potential mates.

As a teen, Amar found Baya wandering in the Pridelands. He fell in love with her and invited her back. When he introduced her to everyone, he noticed Jasira scowling at Baya, which hurt him, but not as much as the thought of Baya not being with him.

Jasira had become mates with Usiku and Uru had been betrothed to Ahadi, so the couples tended to stay together.

In the end, Amar and Baya had one cub called Zira, Jasira and Usiku had four cubs called Naanda, Diku, Dwala and Sarabi and Ahadi and Uru had two cubs called Mufasa and Taka. Amar noticed the look Jasira gave her niece and he was hurt. What did his sister have against his family?

Also, another cub was born around the same time as Zira and her name was Sarafina. All the cubs got on well, until, one day, Uru and Ahadi made the mistake of naming Mufasa as King.

This divided the group.

Zira stayed with Taka and the others stayed with Mufasa.

When Zira was a teenager, Amar heard the news that Taka had tried to kill Mufasa in a buffalo attack, but it didn’t work and he only got scarred himself. He also answered to the name Scar.

Amar had become to resent the other half of the Pride, so he took Scar under his wing and the family started to make a plan to make Scar king.

The plan was for Zira to attack Mufasa, who would then run into an ambush from Scar, Amar and Baya. He wouldn’t survive.

The plan went wrong almost immediately. Zira had underestimated Mufasa’s strength and he tore her ear.

Amar and his family were exiled, the first family in the history of the Pridelands.

They wandered looking for land that didn’t belong to a Pride. This led them to the Outlands. There they proceeded to live as a family, but always knowing that they would get their revenge one day.
