Ashtaa is a female elephant fount in one of Hakuna Matata stories called The Elephants' Graveyard.

Ashtaa is a wise leader of elephant herd who lived in the desert during Scar's reign. She is first seen when Timon, Pumbaa and Simba help Ashtaa's lost daughter, Beele return to the herd. Ashtaa allows Simba and his friends stay in the herd.

As she talks with Simba, she explains that the herd is heading towards Elephant Graveyard so her Aunt Darann, can have a peaceful death there. She explains to shocked simba that all creatures must accept their fate.

In the graveyard Ashtaa stays with her aunt as she dies, protecting her. After darann passes away, the herd sets out to the jungle. Once home, Simba tells Ashtaa that he hopes to be as wise as she is when he grows up.
