Personality: Asya is a bit of a tomboy, she loves to get dirty (much to the chagrin of her mother), hates baths and fights as well as the boys. She is loud, stubborn and quite guttermouthed but she does have a softer side to her (although she hides it), however, she has mellowed down a lot when she assumed the role as ruler of the Jangwa pride.

History: Asya was the first born daughter of an aging Malka and his young mate Tosca. The young princess was raised in her grandfather's pride, the Jangwa Pride, and had wasn't quite what Malka expected in a future queen. She was loud, stubborn and adventurous and she stood out beside her two quieter sisters.

However, the young lioness had to ascend to being queen when her father became seriously ill. She was forced to either grow out of her tomboyish ways or give up her right to one of her younger and more inexperienced sisters. So reluctantly, Asya took her father's place.

Asya had to fend off a lot of larger prides who wanted her pride's valuable hunting lands and she soon became reowned for her strength and powerful leadership abilities, a trait that caught the attention of King Chaka. He made an arrangement with Asya's father before he eventually died to have his son Aricin become Asya's mate since he was passed over for kingship of the Pridelands.

Asya didn't  really like the fact that her father had arranged a mate for her but she resolved that when Aricin came to the pride she would give him a chance.

When Aricin arrived, Asya tried her best to get along with him, including him in all of her decisions and seeking his opinion on pride issues, but the more time she spent with him, the more she came to realise that she didn't love him and probably never would. She was hesitant to admit this to Aricin, fearing he might have feelings for her and that her rejection of him might cause the Pridelanders to attack the pride. 

Thankfully, it turned out that Aricin didn't love her either. They both quietly agreed that Aricin would stay as her King and mate to keep his father happy but that they could take other mates.
