Biography:
Awali is a Pridelander lioness. She lived during Mufasa's reign, and raised her cub, Ota, through Scar's reign. Though she was a fairly young lioness, she died shortly after Simba came back into power. Awali was always a loyalist to Mufasa, but tried not to speak of this around her daughter, for fear of Ota being harmed by Scar in retaliation and because she wanted Ota to remain hopeful and not worry about Scar's dangerous politics.

Having grown up a nomad before joining Mufasa's pride, Awali is one of the lowest ranked lionesses. She regarded Sarabi very highly because of the respect she treated her and Ota with. Her mate and Ota's father, Bru, was a nomad as well, and his status is unknown. She was not worried by this, although she thought of him often during Scar's reign.
