Chimalsi was the first born in his generation. He liked being the oldest as he got all the fuss and attention. Also, he knew he was going to be King.

When Dafina was born Chimalsi knew she would be his queen. He spent all the time with her as there weren’t any other cubs. Then his sister Wema and Dafina’s brother Kabili were born and they spent a lot of time together as a group.

One day, when they were playing in the Pridelands, a young cub called Ajali came to join them. He got invited back to Pride Rock and h lived with them.

Chimalsi hated Ajali as Dafina began to love him instead of Chimalsi. He made almost every moment with Ajali horrible and it didn’t stop Dafina loving him.

As a teen, Chimalsi began to face the facts. Dafina loved Ajali. He spent most of his time inside Pride Rock. Everyone else noticed the change and thought he was ill. Kiara would cry every time she saw him and Kovu would comfort her. Vitani would bring him food, although he never ate any, and Kopa would tell him stories. Normally, Chimalsi refused to hear the stories, but they comforted him. His favourite was about the Great Kings of the Past.

One evening, Ajali came to Chimalsi with a white lioness. Chimalsi noticed how beautiful she was and how much he longed for a mate. Ajali left the two of them alone together.

Chimalsi learnt that her name was Nabii and that she also was looking for a mate. They became a couple and ruled the Pridelands together as King and Queen.
