Jasira was born in the Pridelands during Mohatu’s reign. Her parents were close with Mohatu and Nabila, therefore Jasira was very close with Mohatu and Nabila’s daughter Uru. They were very good friends. She also got on well with her brother, Amar.

Together, they would often talk about Uru’s future as Queen and their potential mates.

As a teen, one lion in particular caught Jasira’s eye. He was called Usiku and he had a lovely, kind personality.

One day, she approached him and asked him if he wanted to spend some time with her. He said he would love to, and that is how they got together.

Meanwhile, Amar had found a rogue lioness wandering in the Pridelands whom he fell in love with. Her name was Baya. Jasira took an instant dislike to Baya, but on account of her brother loving her, Jasira didn’t say a word.

However, Uru was annoyed because she got told that she was actually betrothed to the son of the River Pride King. Her annoyance changed into love when she met Ahadi. She thought he was very handsome.

In the end, Jasira had four cubs with Usiku called Naanda, Diku, Dwala and Sarabi. Uru and Ahadi had two cubs called Mufasa and Taka and Amar and Baya had one cub called Zira.

Again, Jasira had to hide her feelings towards Zira because she loved her brother, however, she could see he was slowly changing, becoming harsher and more moody.

Also, another cub was born around the same time as Sarabi and her name was Sarafina. All the cubs got on well, until, one day, Uru and Ahadi made the mistake of naming Mufasa as King.

This divided the group.

Zira stayed with Taka and the others stayed with Mufasa.

Jasira could tell something was wrong when they were teenagers.

Scar tried to get Mufasa killed in a buffalo attack, but instead got scared himself. He only answered to the name Scar.

Then, Jasira noticed Taka and Zira plotting with Baya and her own dear brother Amar. She alerted Ahadi, but he ignored her and said it was just harmless fun.

Then, as young adults, Zira launched an attack on Mufasa. Mufasa was a good strong fighter and managed not to get too hurt. Zira got her ear torn in the attack.

Ahadi was furious, but didn’t know what to do. Nothing like this had ever happened in the Pride. He asked Jasira for advice. Although it broke her heart to see her brother upset, she said they should exile Zira. Ahadi listened to her and Zira was exiled.

Amar refused to talk to Jasira. He and Baya decided to leave the Pridelands, however, Taka had spent enough time with the evil family that the evil was inside him too.
