Born in the Pride Lands after the reign of Scar, he was born in a litter of 6, but unfortunately the other 5 siblings died at birth. Kito was lucky.

Kito grew up around alot of cubs, meaning he wasn't as lonely as his parents thought he might be. He was the second oldest, after Prince Kopa- so he felt like a leader to some of the other cubs. His friends included Kiara, Kopa, Fluffy, Hakim and many other cubs. He was a bit rebellious, and would always get the other cubs into trouble by convincing them to go on adventures through the Elephant Graveyard and the outlands. His parents would always end up finding out where he'd been, and then he'd get into alot of trouble. He grew into a quite shy cub after the cubs stopped hanging around him because of his adventurous personality. He tried to be friends with the cubs, but they would just look at him and Hakim would say "Sorry, Kito- but we don't need you to hang around us" or "Sorry, Kito but we don't want to get into trouble like the last time you hung around us". The only cub who understood, and hung around him was Hakim's twin brother Salim. Kito wondered about Salim- because they were alike each other. Both rejects.

Soon, Kito and Salim would go on adventures in the outlands and eventually met the outlander cubs Kovu, Vitani, Nuka and Spotty. Kito loved hanging around them- because, well, they were all different. Even though Kito was the only one with a pride lander nose, they were all friends. Stuck together. Until Hakim and Kopa tug along with Salim one day. Kito then refused to go with them, knowing that Hakim and Kopa would get them into alot of trouble. "Salim, they will only get us into trouble, and we'll be grounded!!"

Eventually, the adults found out and Kito got into trouble, and grounded because he didn't try and stop the other cubs from going to the outlands. Kito knew that Kopa and Hakim couldn't be trusted. While Kito was grounded- he heard about the 'unfortunate' accident that happened to Salim, Kopa and Hakim. They were attacked by Zira. Kito gasped and looked at his father. "Dad!! We need to go and find them!!" Kito knew where they were and led the way. They then found Kopa's dead body.

It was a horrible time. The heir to the throne was passed down to Kiara, Kopa's sister, and Hakim and Salim were miserable. It felt like it was their fault. Kito lay with them. Comforting them through the hard time. The sunset on Kopa's time as future king, and rose as Kiara as the new heir.
