Personality: As a cub, Kyra was snarky, cynical, and sarcastic. The only cub that tolerated her was her brother, Kovu. As she grew and matured, Kyra became stoic and vague, saving her childish side for her brother when they are alone.

Love Interest: Kopa

Biography: Kyra is Kovu's twin sister and the daughter of a rogue lion named Mwenye. At first, Zira attempted to kill Kyra, since Kovu was all she needed, but Mwenye forced Zira to take her in. He threatened her, stating that if Zira abandoned Kyra he would reveal to Scar himself that Kovu was not his biological son. Zira reluctantly raised Kyra, but isolated her from Kovu and tried to mislead him into thinking she was not his sister so as to not distract him from his destiny to become king. Despite this, Kovu and Kyra knew they were related and hung out as often as they could.
Zira finally requested the elderly leader to drive Mwenye from the pride, after which she kicked Kyra from the Outlands as a teenager and took over the pride. Kyra was discovered and taken in by Simba and became a working member of the pride.
It was after Kovu was accepted into the pride that Kyra came across the long-lost son of Simba: Kopa, who was thin and pale with illness. She learned that he had broken a leg traveling across the long stretch of desert that separated the savannah from the jungle, all in an attempt to contact a relative of a jaguar friend of his. Once his leg was broken, he had begun to starve and fell ill. Kyra thought at first that he had ulterior motives to kill Simba and take over as king, but after realizing that Kopa was genuine in his gratitude for his saving, she warmed up to him and took over as his nurse. She fell in love with Kopa as she helped him heal, and when he was healthy again she offered to escort him back to the jungle. He was unsure at first, but after some coaxing by Kiara and Simba, Kopa took Kyra and left.
They arrived at the jungle when Kopa asked if she would stay. He and Kyra have yet to return to the Pridelands.

- Kyra is older than Kovu by three minutes.
