Personality: Malkia is a really bright cub. Her inablity to see often leaves her frustrated and angry. All she ever wants is to see the world. Unfortunately, her dreams can never come true. Still, she is a formidable fighter in battle and an amazing hunter. She can always find ways and means to deal with problems. She can be independent, but her father's protectiveness sometimes frustrates her like crazy.

History: Malkia was born a few days after her brother Kgaro's birth. Being born blind had shocked her father. Rafiki tried all her could to get her eyesight back, but couldn't. Because of that, Simba named her Malkia because he believed that she was the queen who could have never been able to rule. Malkia was just like Simba when he was a cub and her personality was very similar to her half-sister's Kiara. Not being able to see the world was saddening to her. Her brother was always protective of her and always stayed by her, which frustrated her as she needed her space. Her younger brother Tojo was always helping her with some or the other thing. He always treated her gently and not rough-and-tough, like he did with their oldest brother. She tried to talk to him, but it never helped. When she overheard her father talking to her mother about how she could never hunt or do anything, she was angry that her father didn't believe in her. She resolved to show the world that she was not helpless. She went along with her father and brother. With the help of Kiara and Kovu, she learnt to sense movements around her. She soon even knew where she was heading just by listening a bit. Kovu trained her in fighting and hunting skills. Putting her listening power into practise, she was soon one of the best cub hunters in the pride. Simba and Samara were amazed that their daughter could overcome the difficulties of her blindness. Simba apologized to Malkia for not believeing in her. He included her in everything from then on. Malkia grew into a beautiful lioness. She always looked up to Kiara and Kopa. Using her skills, Malkia was very soon the best hunter in the pride. Even her brother had to compliment her on her achievement. When Simba and Samara stepped down, Malkia took her place as the king's advisor along with Kgaro. In the meantime, Malkia also began to experience strong feelings for a lion named haki. He had been adopted by Simba and Samara when they were cubs as his parents had died on a hunt. They had been best friends since. Malkia didn't know why, but she felt like he was the only one who really understood her. They both had something in common, they both couldn't see. But Malkia envied haki as he could see, although not very clearly. Still, she knew she could always turn to him for advice and comfort. She had always thought of him as her brother, but as time passed, Malkia began to question her feelings for the brown lion. One day, when they went star-gazing, Malkia wondered how the stars looked. That night, he told her about the star and the Great Kings and Queens looking down from the stars. He also told her that he loved her. She was astounded by this, but told him that she loved him too. Now, she was finally sure of what she felt for him.
