History: As a cub, Mandar loved his family so much. He was especially close to his mother. Unfortunately, hyena's came and invaded the pride. They made the lions work hard for them until they dropped dead. His mother had left him in a safe place to live one day, for fear of the hyena's finding him. They wanted to kill all newborn cubs to stop too much population and that was the last Mandar saw of her. It was lucky Shani came across him. When she looked at him she could see that Mandar was abandoned. There was no way any mother could have left the poor cub out all alone without a good reason. "You can live with me" Shani had said suddenly, bending her head and licking him. She picked him up and took him to her home.

   Twilight loved the little cub, but Midnight wasn't so sure. Over the years they became close brothers and were usually inseperable. Yet Mandar could remember his real mothers last lullaby, and hummed it to himself when he was alone. Mandar became best friends with Alice, a lion that was abandoned and left to someone else's care. Unlike most male lions, he loved getting baths as he felt close to his mother. He also felt protected and, somehow, reminded of something. He didn't know that it reminded him of his mother, that was long since dead.

   As he grew older Mandar knew something was wrong. He didn't look anything like Shani and Twilight, so asked them why he was so different. Shani explained the story, but it only brought forth only where he came from. Shani struggled to answer, and eventually said she didn't know. Mandar, figuring out that his parents must have died protecting him, suddenly didn't want being around to be anyone anymore. In the middle of the night he would go to look at the stars. If felt calming, looking at their beauty. He knew he had to return.

   As an adult, Mandar told Shani he was going to look for his pride. Shani agreed, but to be on the safe side sent Brazil, who was visiting, to follow him. She did, and watched him try to sneak in. Curious about the past, Brazil went back in time. She saw Mandar's mother hiding from hyenas, they seemed to be killing newborn cubs. Then Brazil saw Mandar's mother run off with him, left him alone in a place where the hyenas would not get him, and fled. Brazil came back to present time and explained the story to Mandar. Once inside, Mandar sneaked to look for the king, a hyena. Once the King was found, Mandar attacked him. Many guards rushed it to help but Brazil was far to quick and strong. She was fighting, and winning, them all while Mandar was fighting the king. Pinning him to the ground, Mandar demanded his mother's name. Half-choking the king said her name was Alima. Then Mandar killed the king. The other hyena's that werent killed fled, and the lions were once again free.

   Mandar became king of that pride, and ruled fairly. Yet he still visited Shani. And Alice. He needed a queen, so he asked Alice to be. She accepted. A few years later when she gave birth to Mandar's cub, he named her after his mother. Alima.
