Personality: As a cub and young adult, she was generally cheerful. She was very caring and kind, a good older sister. She was protective over her, and was like a second mother, though Vitani did just fine. She often thought things through before doing something, but if it involves Aaron, she will jump in head first without thinking. She's pretty smart, but for the most part, playful and generous, willing to lend a helping paw. But after the accident, she became distant and cold towards her family and friends, a loner pretty much. Sadness and depression consumed her life, and she was a shell of her former self. Though sometimes she would act like her old self around her sister, she didn't reveal her true feelings.

History: Mkali was born only a little while after the two prides joined together. Kopa had met Vitani as a cub, and they fell in love. They became mates after the prides joined, and soon, Vitani became pregnant. Simba gave Kovu the option of having his cub as heir, since he was older than Kiara and was having cubs first, but he declined, saying he was perfectly comfortable with his simple life. When Mkali was born, a storm was happening, and a ray of light shone down on her from the heavens. It was then that her mother and father decided on her name. As she became older, her father raised her on stories about the Great Kings Of The Past, and others. She really enjoyed them, and often came in the afternoons just to listen to the stories.

When she was three months old, she met Aaron, a male cub they had adopted into the pride after finding him alone. They became best friends, and often played together. When she was a year old, her mother fell pregnant again, and birthed her a younger sister named Annmarie. She deeply enjoyed spending time with her, sharing stories and singing her songs so she could sleep. When Annmarie was two months old, Kiara, after trying all the time for the past year, finally gave birth to two cubs, twins named Ndogo, meaning small, and Dada, meaning sister. Ndogo was smaller than his sister, but he made up for it in a big heart as he grew. It was when Annmarie was two months old that something bad happened, something no one could predict.

Though Mkali was a thinker most of the time, her love for Aaron was more than she could bear. She had hoped to be his mate in the future, as she cared deeply for him. One day, she, her sister, and Aaron were playing near a chasm, one that they didn't know existed. Aaron had been running, but fell over the edge, clinging to a rock to try and stay up. Mkali tried to reach him, but he couldn't hold on any longer, and he fell into the swirling river. His head never came up, and Mkali assumed he was dead. She cried at the loss of her best friend, and from then on, her mood changed. Despite having her pridemates comfort her, Mkali soon became forlorn, and seemed to have forgotten her sister and her family. She now spent nights alone, away from her pride so she could mourn him.

Three years past, and Mkali was an adult. She had learned how to hunt, and tried her best to control her sadness, and though she acted nice and sweet, she was actually being cold on the inside. On the third anniversary of Aaron's death, she visited the spot where he died to say a few words, when she was surprised to find Aaron was alive! She was over joyed, and knew she wouldn't let him out of her sight after that. She found out about his story: he had hit a rock under water and was knocked out cold, being swept far downstream to a territory where there was a pride that took care of him. After three years, the pride had been ravaged by war and hunger, and only him and another lion survived. When he joined the pride, she became his mate, and they tried to have cubs, but found out she was infertile, but that didn't stop them being mates.
