Name: Saidi (means “helper”)
Age: Cub - Teen – Adult (Depends)
Parents: Unknown male & Zo
Siblings: Many
Mate/Crush: Baakir (forced mate; formerly), Nadim © Claire Cooper (future mate)
Cubs: None (is pregnant with Baakir’s)
Personality: Saidi is a loner at heart, and is very distant to anything or anyone. She has a very tough exterior, and rarely talks, and when she does, it’s usually in a negative way. She’s also a fighter, and can take hits either verbally or physically, but be prepared for her comeback. She can also hold her own against threats, and doesn’t back down from a fight. She’s very cunning, and can be very manipulative to get her way or to avoid confrontation, though she’ll fight if she has too. However, deep down, Saidi is an insecure lioness who tries to keep herself from getting hurt by shutting herself away from the world around her because of her past.
History: Saidi was born in a large pride where males literally “ruled.” She, like most female cubs, was going to be abandoned, but Baakir, one of the joint leaders of the pride, decided to let her stay. Saidi was raised by her mother, Zo (never knew who her father was), which was shocking that a mother and daughter stayed together, but the happiness was not meant to last because soon Baakir announced that Saidi was his future mate. Saidi was still a baby at this point, so she didn’t understand. However, as she grew into an older cub, she became a mischievous, but intelligent cub that was very witty at her age. She acted like an adult, and often knew things that she wasn’t supposed to know. She soon figured out what ‘betrothed’ meant, and was disgusted to be mates with Baakir, and Baakir heard this. In rage he hit Saidi, and that was the first time of many times to come that Saidi would suffer abuse from Baakir. As she grew Baakir became obsessed with her, and kept her near him at all times. He also insulted and tormented her, mostly verbally, but sometimes he would hit her for fun. As a teen Saidi was taught by Zo how to hunt, and to always obey the males. Saidi hated how lionesses were treated like dirt, but she couldn’t do anything about it. At this point, Saidi had grown into a mature young lioness, which pleased Baakir, who was always with Saidi. Saidi began to realize something was wrong with how Baakir was with her, and talked to her mother about it. Zo told her daughter that ever since Baakir saw Saidi that he was interested in her, and as she grew it only became worse. Saidi was shocked when her mother told her that Baakir was obsessed with her, and Zo told her daughter to be careful. Sadly, one night Baakir got Saidi alone, and his obsession for her increased to the point where he forced Saidi to mate with him. After that Saidi managed to escape the pride one night, and she ran away. However, a few days after she left her pride, she was walking when she stumbled across a small ditch, and she injured her paw. She kept walking, but soon her paw began to hurt a lot, and she decided to rest for a day. After resting she tried to get up, but couldn’t because of her injury. So she laid there for a few days, slowly starving until a young male lion around her age come across her. She reluctantly accepted his help when he offered to catch her some food, and slowly yet surely Saidi began to heal, with the male lion, whose name was Nadim, staying with and helping her along the way. Soon Saidi was able to stand and walk properly, and left, but what she didn’t expect was when Nadim followed her. She quarreled with him for a few minutes before finally accepting his company with her. And soon, the young lion earned Saidi’s trust, and also started to find a way into her heart.

Relation to TLK: Is mates with the son of Nala & Kovu.
More About Saidi’s Birth Pride: Saidi’s birth pride was dominated by males. Lionesses were looked down on, and were believed to be created just to serve males. (By hunting, taking care of cubs, producing cubs, etc.) Her pride was led by the former leader’s sons, whose names were Maalik and Baakir. However, Baakir was the older of the two, and more dominant, so Maalik was more like a co-leader to Baakir. They were young adults, but still respected by their other pridemates. Now, most lioness cubs were abandoned unless Baakir or Maalik wanted to keep them for certain reasons.
