Personality/story: Sekai was born during Taka's reign and, unfortunately for the king, he was born blind. But, when he got slightly older, his blindness proved to be efficient, especially for hunting. At first, his mother thought he was a female; so, she gave him the name of Sekai. However, he soon got used to it.
Sekai had a few problems in learning how to take care of himself. As he applied what he knew to the senses he still had, Sekai learned to live with his lack of vision and soon he turned into one of the best hunters. While other hyenas stole their food from lions, he only did it when it was absolutely necessary.
One day, while hunting on his own, Sekai went too far away from his pride and failed to return. He found refuge in the desert and lived there for a long time. When he discovered that the rightful king had returned, Sekai found a chance to live away from the tyranny that haunted his past and, at the same time, leave the loneliness he was facing in the desert.
Formerly, the King and the Queen had some suspicion about the boy. But as soon as the king saw that he had a good heart, Simba welcomed him with open arms to his kingdom and offered him a role as a hunter, allowing him to work with the hunting party.
When the future king Kopa was born, Sekai soon developed a very strong bond with him. While the other pride cubs kept themselves away from the hyena, Kopa saw him as one of his very best friends. Sekai was heartbroken when the boy disappeared. The leaders of the pride gave the pride a new heir - that was Kiara. Sekai promised himself that he would take care of her and make sure nothing bad happened to the princess.
He never saw Kovu as a good influence to Kiara, and made sure to warn the king about the outlander. Sekai tried his best to alert the princess about her new "friend", but she never listened. His hatred for him grew as time passed by, and he was the only one to feel happy when Kovu left the Pride Lands after a long time. However, Kiara asked the hyena if he could keep an eye on him and he reluctantly accepted. Simba felt secretly grateful, since his suspicion about Kovu had reappeared.
Soon Sekai informed the kingdom that he and Kopa had formed an alliance, and suddenly the Pride Lands was on high alert - the Shadowlands had returned, and worse than before. For Sekai, the hunter days were over and it was time to start using his skills as a warrior.

Relation to TLK: Born during Scar's reign; lives in the Pride Lands, was a member of the hunting party created by Simba and Nala and is one of the best warriors of Pride Lands. He was a good friend of Kopa and became Kiara's messenger.
