Personality: As a cub. Tai was very immature and a bit of a trouble maker. He liked to joke around and goof off instead of accepting his responsibilities. He looked up to his father Mheetu and saw the best in everyone. Tai had always been protective over his loved ones and as time went on that did not change. He is a caring and brave lion who tackles problems head first with confidence. He is a great king and leader.

History: Tai was the first and only son of Mheetu and Kala. He was the prince of the Kingdom and from the very start looked up to his father, Mheetu. His father made a great king, even though he was only king because he married Kala who was the princess and heir to the throne. His birth was a big celebration for the pride and everyone was excited to see how Mheetu and Kala would raise their young prince.

As a cub, Tai was always misbehaving. He didn’t like doing chores and he’d much rather be out playing with his friends. He never took things seriously, which his father always warned him about. Tai was very playful and was just full of life. His was mostly close to his father, who he learned everything from, while he claimed that his mother loved embarrassing him. Tai was out playing on his own one day when he stumbled upon a cub around his age. He introduced himself to the lonely girl and offered to take her out on adventure. The cub was confused at first but went along with the crazy prince’s plan. The cub explained her name was Jade. Tai led Jade to past the borders of their kingdom and explored the strange new land further than they have ever explored before. Tai took a liking to Jade right away. She was bossy and told the truth just the way it was. He found it refreshing and more fun that way. They would often argue on their walk but it would usually end up in a quick game of play wrestling, where Jade refused to lose. They both couldn’t seem to wipe the smiles off their faces until there was a sudden strange noise. The two cubs froze and looked around, noticing a huge deformed shadow figure. Jade stood still, trying to be brave, while Tai was trying to convince her to run back home with him, so they’d both be safe just in case. A loud deep roar came from the strange shadow and the two cubs hastily ran back onto their side of the border, not knowing it was only Mheetu who decided to teach his son a lesson about sneaking past the borders into unknown territory.

Ever since then, Tai and Jade were close friends. Jade was impatient, loud, and sarcastic with everyone else but she loved being around Tai and her more playful childish side shown around him. Tai was a misbehaving prince who didn’t like to listen to others but around Jade he was more gentle and careful. The two ended up growing up together and, even as teenagers, they were still best friends. Mheetu and Kala noticed their sons attachment towards Jade and would sometimes playfully tease him about it, but Tai would always quickly refused the fact that he had a huge crush on his best friend. Tai was soon going to be crowned the new king, and Jade made him promise that nothing between them would change. A few days later, Jade disappeared.

Tai was a wreck without Jade. He sent out others to search for her, and even went out himself but there was no sign of her. Tai’s parents told their son to stay back and take care of the kingdom, which should be his top priority. Tai reluctantly did as he was told and decided to keep his focus on his kingdom. Everything was going great, until a small gang of lions decided to cause chaos in the kingdom. Almost every day, there would be news of something ruined by those out of control lions. They were sneaky and clever, making sure they were never caught. Tai tried to do everything he could to stop the destructive lions and their leader, Zuberi. Tai’s parents were concerned that Tai was now king and he had no queen to give him an heir. They didn’t want the kingdom to fall apart and encouraged him to find a wife. Tai knew that the only one he could love was Jade, who disappeared, and he was too busy with the gangs causing trouble to even bother so he told his parents to deal with it. They soon found a strong, sweet lioness that found Tai very attractive. Her name was Lana and she was very nice. Tai and Lana spent a lot of time together after that and Lana fell in love so it was decided that they should get married. Tai thought Lana was beautiful, and a real nice lioness but he was not in love with her. The two were engaged anyway but Tai had just learned something very shocking. Zuber, leader of the gangs destroying his kingdom, had Jade. He accused him of kidnapping her but he claimed Jade was supposed to be with them and he did not own her illegally. Tai was confused and he tried to talk to Jade but she simply followed whatever Zuberi said, which was abnormal behavior for Jade. Tai was always thinking about Jade and he managed to get her alone once. He confessed her love for her and explained that he would do anything to be with her. Jade refused his offer, even though she was in love with him, and said that it wouldn’t work. She apparently did belong to Zuberi and Tai was getting engaged to Lana very soon. It seemed hopeless for Jade. Tai couldn’t believe what he heard. He’d never think Jade would just give up and he tried continuing life without her but it didn’t work. He was in love with Jade. Zuberi’s gangs caused more trouble throughout Tai’s kingdom and Tai was fed up. It wasn’t until Tai witnessed Zuberi hitting Jade when he had to take action now. He declared war on Zuberi’s growing gangs. Zuberi accepted. The two got together, gathering their strongest fighters, and the fight began. Jade refused to participate in any of it. Zuberi  didn’t fight Tai, however. Zuberi challenged Tai to fight Jade instead and if he beat her, then the gangs would leave his kingdom alone forever. Others wanted Tai to accept the challenge, knowing he could easily beat Jade and they’d be left alone but Tai simply could not fight against the one he loves. He said no, and explained to everyone that Jade was his true love so he could never hurt her. Everyone was shocked. Zuberi smirked, as if he won, and Tai snapped. He lunged at Zuberi, and attacked him. He told Zuberi if he was a real lion then he would fight. Zuberi and Tai fought, one-on-one, with only one winner to live. Tai ended Zuberi and his gang’s violence. He ran to Jade and the two felt as if they could finally be together. Tai met up with Lana, and apologized for not being able to love her back but she seemed to accept it pretty well over time. Jade did know this was not the end, however. She did belong to the gang because her father sold her to them, to protect her family members before they left Tai’s pride too. So, she had to return to them. Tai wasn’t going to give her up that easily, though, and fought for Jade. The gang argued that she did legally belong to them and Tai decided to offer them anything. Instead of having to give up Jade, Tai had to take the gang off on their own with lots of food and help them start their own pride. Many believe that Tai was crazy for helping those who would just cause more trouble to others, which they did later on, but it was a cost to pay to live his normal happy life with Jade.

Tai’s kingdom was put back into peace and he finally had his best friend, now mate, by his side again. Lana ended up finding someone else and Tai made his parents very proud. He ended up having to raise three cubs of his own, Paka, Kimba, and Sanura, with Jade.
