Tulivu was raised by his father as his mother died when he was very young. Tulivu’s father was the King of the Pride, therefore Tulivu was the future King, but he preferred to think of himself as a normal member of the Pride as he didn’t like being fussed over.

Tulivu wasn’t one for the rules. He got into trouble a lot for standing out from the crowd and expressing his own beliefs, which contradicted those of his father.

Tulivu’s father got even more frustrated with him when Tulivu was a teen. He took Tulivu aside many times to remind him that a Pride must work together and be as one in order to survive. He also said that it is important for the future King to understand the unity in a Pride and sticking together. Tulivu told his father that he didn’t want to have strict rules to follow, but to be free.

Tulivu’s father was upset with his son, and decided to send him away. Tulivu cried when he heard the news, but he knew he wouldn’t enjoy being the leader of a Pride, so he left.

When Tulivu was travelling on the road he met Awena, and a few more friends. Together they decided to form a Pride called the Utendaji Pride. Tulivu loved this Pride because there were very few rules and everyone was unique.

The Utendaji Pride was set up so I was able to educate everyone on musicals, one of my favourite things (get the pun?)! I just love them and their songs are so powerful, so each member of the Utendaji Pride is related to a different musical. Every picture of them will relate to a song and I will post the link of the song so you are able to listen to it, as well as a context in the story of the musical.
