Personality: Wema is a kind, pacient lioness. She is protective over her cubs and would give her own life to save them. Wema is loyal to her Pride and also a good "cub-sitter". She is also shy towards stranger lions.

Story: Wema was born in a place near the Pridelands, in a small Pride. She and her brother were the only ones who survived the dry season. Wema and her brother were spoiled by her Pride and she didn't like it, totally the opposite of his brother. When her brother started to get dehydrated, the Pride panicked. They knew they should find water soon as possible or they would die. The Pride's leader found the Pridelands and begged the King for help. Wema and her brother recovered from the dehydration very fast and, after that, she didn't want to leave the Pridelands. Ahadi, the King, told them they could stay. Wema and her aunt were the only ones who truly wanted to stay. At first, she was shy towards all those royal lions, but soon she started to feel as if she was from the family.

Wema grew up in the Pridelands and, unlike many other lionesses, she never had any interest in the King's sons. One day, she was walking and saw a young lion, approximately the same age as her, being attacked by a group of fierce, strong hyenas. By her own instincts, she helped him. He introduced himself by the name Mega. After that, they became friends. Wema noticed that, everytime they meet, both started to get shy towards each other. It didn't take too long until both fell in love with each other. Wema knew it was forbidden to be mates with a lion wich wasn't for the Pride, but she couldn't stop seeing him.

Wema got pregnant. She tried to hide it from the Pride, but her belly was getting bigger and bigger. Wema didn't want to tell the truth to the King, but also didn't want to lie. So she told him about the forbidden love she was having with Mega and that she was pregnant. Mufasa told her she would give her a chance because, unlike other lioness could have done, she told the truth without any single lie. Wema was happy because of that, but she knew she couldn't see her love anymore.

Not much after the King's son was born, she had three cubs, wich she named Chumvi, Kula and Tojo. Wema promised to take care of them, no matter what. One day, after she came back from hunting, she found out that Tojo had twisted his leg and she was in horror. She tried to not show it to keep Tojo and her other two cubs calm. Tojo asked what he could do during the whole day and when she said "rest", Tojo complained that "resting was for old lions".

When Scar took over the Pridelands, she wanted to leave the Pridelands for her male cub's safety, but she could even die trying to escape, since there were hyenas everywhere. Wema told her cubs the promise she made of protecting them and Chumvi, trying to not cry at his mother's calm and soft words, replied that they would take care of her as well.

They all were starving. Wema was one of those lionesses. Every time she had hunted down something, she would let her cubs eat first. But when she caught something too small, she wouldn't eat anything. Wema was getting skinnier and skinnier.

When the hyenas Shenzi, Banzai and Ed attacked her cubs, she went insane. She nearly killed them for doing that. Luckily, she and her cubs survived.

But Wema could only hunt small things, such as birds and, sometimes, even jackals. She didn't eat anything, she left everything for her cubs. Tojo and Chumvi would have to leave the Pride Rock soon, even if his manes weren't full yet. Wema told them a safe exit to the land where she lived when she was a cub. So they did: they escaped to a safest land, a land wich now was just like the old, good Pridelands.

Wema continued to hunt for her daughter, wich didn't learn how to hunt yet. She continued to refuse to eat. But after Kula's begging, she ate from the last large wildebeest they could catch.

Her daughter was fully-grown. The rightful King took over the throne. Months later, the Pridelands was full of life again. Looking at her healthy (and chubby) Kula, she noticed that she had completed her mission of protecting her cubs until they were independent. She didn't knew about Chumvi and Tojo, but she knew they were better in the lands she was born in. One year and three months later, Chumvi and Tojo came, all grown up, to visit their mother and sister. Unfortunately, they had to go because of their new Pride. Kula wanted to go with them and so she did. Sighing with a smile in her face, the old Wema closed her eyes, falling into an eternal sleep.
