Yatima’s parents died when she was very young, so instead she was raised by another lioness called Zira. Zira hated Yatima, as she hated all cubs except her own. Yatima was slightly older than Nuka, and Nuka also hated her. They would fight all the time, and Yatima lost most of the time.

As a teenager, Yatima had had enough. She left all by herself in search for someone who would actually love her.

Yatima wandered for ages and ages, feeling like part of her was missing. All she knew was that she had to get as far away from Zira and Nuka as possible.

Very soon on, Yatima met another orphan called Nemsi. They felt drawn to each other by their past experiences. They fell in love and they walked far and wide together in search of a suitable home.

In the end, they find their home in the Utendaji Pride where they are welcomed into a big family where they all cared for each other.

Yatima felt whole again and she soon forgot about the terrors of her childhood.

The Utendaji Pride was set up so I was able to educate everyone on musicals, one of my favourite things (get the pun?)! I just love them and their songs are so powerful, so each member of the Utendaji Pride is related to a different musical. Every picture of them will relate to a song and I will post the link of the song so you are able to listen to it, as well as a context in the story of the musical.
