Personality: Zuri is a rather outspoken meerkat, and has a voice and heart much bigger than her smaller size. She's used to voicing her opinions, no matter how irritating it can be. She's rather free-spirited and rebellious, and tends to follow her own mind. She absolutely hates when someone tries to tell her she's wrong, and often times she isn't afraid to get up in someone's face and give them a piece of her mind. Because of this hot-headed nature, she tends to get into trouble a lot, especially with the other meerkats in her mob, which has lead to fights in the past. Because of a lot of hostility from her old mob, she tends to be very loner like, and prefers to be by herself or with one other companion than a whole group, and while she can try to bear them, it makes her extremely uncomfortable. She could be described as claustrophobic, as she isn't the best in small places or with large amounts of others. But, if she's one on one with someone she's familiar with, she can tend to show a nicer side, even kindness if she's fond enough of them.

History: Zuri was originally born to the leaders of a meerkat mob in the desert known as the Ihlane mob. Growing up, she had several siblings, and nearly always had competition for everything from sleeping space to food. Because of all the competition, she became very aggressive, and often protected her food with tooth and claw. Her mother soon took notice, and often had to scold her daughter, however this only fed Zuri's determination. As she got older, she and her mother got into more and more quarrels, often with Zuri having to spend a night or two away from the main colony. This time away from the colony always made her feel happier, and after a while, she realized that she was always meant to be free. But, she seemed to forever be tied to her colony.

It was after a particularly bad quarrel with her mother when she snapped. Out of anger, she slapped her mother, resulting in her exile. Zuri was outraged, but left anyways, bitter as ever. It was only after a couple days when she realized what she had done, and wanted to go back and apologize. But by now she was lost in the desert, left to fend for herself. It soon turned out to be rather difficult, always dodging predators and trying to find food in scant places. Eventually, she became very skinny, and continued to move from place to place, hoping to find a better food source. Whenever she came upon a colony, they always chased her out, so she lived on her own for several months. It was only her luck however that brought her to the vast jungle that was plentiful in food. Deciding to live there, she began to scrounge for food, only to be stopped by another meerkat.

Her name was Ma, and after some introductions, the female meerkat quickly took Zuri under her wing, bringing her to the best places to forage, as well as cleaning her up. Over the next couple of days, Zuri and Ma became very close, and Ma resembled a motherly figure to the young meerkat. After meeting up with her for several weeks, since she didn't want to meet the mob, she was introduced to Ma's son and the dominant male, Timon. They were very wary at first, with their first confrontation being an almost full blown argument. Ma and Uncle Max ended up having to calm them both down, and Zuri gave Timon a second chance. Though the two initially weren't very friendly, they soon grew close, eventually earning some romantic feelings for each other until Timon and Zuri officially became mates. And though she is now the dominant female, she doesn't really come around the colony that often, due to her bad past with large groups.
