Walt Disney Records just announced The Legacy Collection, a new line that will celebrate the anniversaries of Disney classics, including The Lion King. The two-disc set will feature the original soundtrack, 30 minutes of unreleased score, and liner notes from the producer, Don Hahn, and Academy Award-winning composer, Hans Zimmer.
The Lion King has its 20th anniversasy on June 24, 2014. Here's a preview of said sountrack's cover:

I've finally worked out way people think there are 2 different release
dates. June 15th is when a limited number came out in the USA, but
June 24th is the day where everything came out in the USA. For us in
the UK it didn't arrive until 7th October! |

People are more concerned with anniversary years than anniversary
dates. Plus, the film and music industries work completely different,
including release days of the week. Usually, films are released on
Fridays and DVDs on Tuesdays. Music is released on Saturdays, usually. |

I listen to soundtracks all the time, especially when revising. My
favourite is the Lion King soundtrack (of course) and I love the sound
of all the extras being put in to this 20th anniversary edition! |
