The wait is (almost) over : The Lion King has finally been officially announced for a release on Bluray. It will come Fall 2011! Which should give you all the time to get a Bluray player (I still don't, myself ^^)

Also, to give you a taste of what it will look like, I had access to an HD version of the film and posted more than 600 high-resolution screenshots of the first film! They will replace the old (bad quality) ones. Here are some samples of what you will find in the gallery (click on them to expand) :
Advice : Almost any of these pictures can be used to make a very nice wallpaper on your computer desktop!
NB : The screenshots from the two DTV sequels have temporarily been removed so that Grey Wolf can send new, better quality ones (from the DVD, not HD but still better)

Awesome. As others have said, if I had a Blu-Ray I would probably get
this (maybe it could be something to get my dad for Christmas. He
loves LK). And I am definitely looking forward to the 3-D version I
heard about. The fights alone would be wicked cool. |
