Dark Clouds Pt 14: Race Against Time
The next part is finally here! This was originally going to be just that first panel, but then I thought it would be a pretty boring scene to just have them running with no dialogue, so I added the second panel to make it more interesting.
So, now that they had the cure for prince Kaleb, the three heroes were finally heading home. Allie and Luca ran faster than they'd ever ran in their life, and Nigel was riding on Luca's back, holding tight to the flower on his right hand.
Meanwhile, back home in the Isu Keeney pride, Sera was about to reveal a secret to her mate...
- Sera! There you are! I've been looking all over for you, Roscoe called, and came over to his mate, who seemed a bit startled.
- Roscoe? W-what are you doing here? What about Kaleb? she asked quietly.
- Ryder's with him, don't worry. I was worried about you, you've been acting very strange lately, Roscoe said, approaching the lioness who sighed, and looked away.
- I know... Oh, darling, I'm sorry, I should have told you earlier, but I was too scared, she said with a trembling voice, and Roscoe raised his eyebrows.
- Scared? Sera, now I'm really starting to get worried, please, talk to me, he pleaded, with a worried tone.
- I'm... I'm pregnant, Roscoe, Sera finally confessed, and Roscoe raised his eyebrows, and eventually his face turned into a wide and happy smile.
- You... You are?! Sera, that's... that's great news! Isn't it? he rejoiced, but his mate wasn't as cheerful.
- But what if something happens to the cub, or cubs? And the thought of Kaleb not making it... oh, Roscoe, I just can't deal with so many losses, she said, with her eyes starting to water.
- Come on, sweetheart... Roscoe whispered, and nudged her cheek with his nose, and nuzzled her.
- Kaleb IS going to make it. I'm sure Allie and Luca will be back with a cure soon. Hey, we should be rejoicing - we're going to be parents again! Come on... cheer up, my love, he continued, and now a small smile formed on Sera's face, she sniffed and sighed and leaned towards her mate, who nuzzled her lovingly.
