okay, simba's death...
As kiara walked the borders, she wondered about her cubs- she already had nikki and kiona, but now she was almost at the halfway mark of her time of carrying unborn cubs. It was dry season, so most of the prey had left till the rain came. This year was worse than most, for it was longer, and less food for her now meant preemie sized cubs later. But that would end in time. Her dad was what worried her the most though. her mom had passed away a while back, and since then hed been in a daze. she knew nalas death had hit him hard-- but she never thought he would actually leave the pride as he had done so many times during the last years. but-- watching your one love die had been frightfully draining for him, for his eyes had lost their spark, his sweetness to his grandkids gone, and worse than anything-
he had distanced himself from his daughter so much that she thought he hated her.
still, the pride gave him their all, especialy his mother, who by now was far the eldest, confined to the cave because of her feebleness. Kiara heeved another sigh, and then froze. thunder rolled in the distance, but she dashed across the savannah as fast as she could to her fathers fallen body, which lay very still. "Oh, daddy... dont leave." kiara whispered as she licked him to no avail. As she sobbed she felt a odd warmth inside
Then, the voice of her father- the one she had known as a cub- spoke, and she instinctivly knew that was her dad's spirit inside."Kia, my girl, do not be afraid, for i am reunited with your mother, so if you feel lost, know that we shall always watch out for your lands, and i will always be here to guide you. farewell my daughter.
and with that, it started to pour, dry season had ended, but at a horrible cost.
EDIT* the pride found kiara the next day hudled next to her father, a stillborn cub next to her side.*
